Electric Vehicles

Electric Vehicles are cars and motorcycles that use electric motors for propulsion, and generally they produce no emissions at all. Electricity can come from solar panels which are 100% “green” or from batteries and fuel cells charged from renewable sources. Competitors needing a charge at the AE Racing event can hook up to our biodiesel generator. Several mass-produced electric vehicles are already on the market, and many, many more are due in 2008. Examples include the 100kph Vectrix electric motorcycle, and the 130mph Lightening Car Company vehicle due in 2008. There are also some excellent home-brewed examples of electric race cars including the 120kph VW Beetle engineered by the HVWC. Non-combustion technology such as vehicles with pneumatic propulsion engines will also run in this class.

Acceptable Technologies:

Battery Electric
Solar Electric
